Valve cuts funding for coach travel expenses to RMRs

Valve will no longer pay for coaches’ travel to the RMR tournaments. Detonate’s coach Joshua "m1cks" Micks was the first to point this out, after which several of his colleagues confirmed the information.

If earlier the entire team, including coaches, was paid for travel to venues of the qualifying events for the Majors, now only five players' expenses are to be covered.

At the time of publishing, Valve did not comment on the information provided by the coaches. It's worth mentioning that in the past, CS:GO developers have placed restrictions on the role of team coaches during their tournaments, prohibiting them from cheering on players by shouting and limiting their ability to interact with them, except during timeouts.

The upcoming qualifiers for BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 will take place in early April. The European RMR event is scheduled to play out on April 6-16 in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, the American one – in the Mexican city of Monterrey on April 5-9, and the Asian one – in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, on April 4-8.
