kassad: "OG is the first big organization that's gonna drop its CS:GO division"

Serbian coach Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović suggested on the Hot Take Point podcast that if any of the big clubs decide to exit CS:GO, OG will be the first one to do so. In his opinion, for 4.5 years of its existence, the European team has failed to deliver on its organization's expectations and financial investments.

OG is the first big organization that's gonna drop its CS:GO division. This is not me talking about it because I know something, it's pure speculation. I see that happening because over four years right now, they haven't managed to accomplish pretty much anything in terms of results. They were not bad, they were not the EG level, but they have not been contenders for titles since the beginning. They played a couple of finals and that's it overall. They changed the whole lineup, changed the whole dynamic of the team, and a lot of money has been spilled into that project ever since it started. They do have the partnership with BLAST, but, you know, I don't think that matters too much when you have the big picture. And just overall, I think the initial thought for them was to build a Dota 2 mirror kind of lineup. The OG Dota team is legendary, they won all these Majors, Internationals, whereas right now, I feel that the CS:GO division hasn't really done anything meaningful.

What is wrong with them is that you cannot really place them anywhere. I cannot go and say like: "They suck", when in fact they are not that bad, but they are not the level they should be. Four and a half years have passed since they started. I honestly think if there is going to be someone from big orgs leaving CS:GO, OG would be the first one.

OG's entry into the professional CS:GO scene was announced in December 2019. Subsequently, the team's best achievement was making the grand finals of such online tournaments as Flashpoint 2 and IEM New York 2020 for Europe.
