Outsiders roster will not return to Virtus.pro tag at BLAST Premier World Final 2022

Members of the Outsiders roster will not be able to represent the Virtus.pro organization at BLAST Premier World Final 2022, the tournament operator told Dexerto.

The BLAST Premier World Final 2022 organizers' comment regarding the status of the Outsiders players in the upcoming championship was needed after Virtus.pro posted on their social media the announcement of the tournament with their own logo, rather than the Outsiders'. Part of the CS:GO community took this post as news about the roster returning to playing under its former name.

Virtus.pro have been competing under the neutral name of Outsiders since March this year. Shortly after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine, all big tournament operators banned the club due to the latter having apparent ties to the Russian government.

In September of this year, Armenian businessman Aram Karamanukyan, previously unknown in the esports industry, became Virtus.pro's new investor and CEO. Soon after, VP's Dota 2 roster was allowed to represent the club at The International 2022, however, the CS:GO lineup continued to play as Outsiders and, in particular, won IEM Rio Major 2022 under this tag.

BLAST Premier World Final 2022 will run on December 14-18 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. Besides Outsiders, competing for $1 million in prize money will be FaZe, NAVI, Liquid, Heroic, G2, OG and Vitality.
