Valve makes changes to RMR invitation system

Valve has announced on its official website that the way teams will be invited to the RMR events has been changed. Starting from the qualifying cycle for BLAST Paris Major 2023, some squads will get to skip the open qualifiers and receive direct invitations to a closed qualifier.

Currently, participants of RMR tournaments are those who were invited directly based on the results of the previous Major, as well as the winners of the open qualifiers. Starting with the upcoming BLAST Paris Major 2023, some teams will be given the opportunity to skip the open qualifiers and go directly to a closed qualifier.

The aforementioned change concerns teams that consistently perform well at Majors and competitions under the auspices of other tournament operators. In the near future, Valve will provide more details about the new format for qualifying for RMR events.

BLAST Paris Major 2022 will take place from May 8 to 21. The RMRs, which will determine the attendees of the prestigious event, will run from April 3 to 9.
