"Nothing special". B1ad3 commented on NAVI making IEM Rio 2022

In a conversation with an HLTV.org journalist, NAVI coach Andrey "B1ad3" Gorodenskiy summed up the team's performance at the RMR event, where the Black and Yellow won three consecutive matches and qualified for the Legends Stage of IEM Rio 2022. The specialist believes that his roster did not do anything special and only confirmed its high level.

It gives some confidence, of course, but I think it's nothing special. If you are number two in the world, I think you must go 3-0.

Gorodenskiy also explained what is the reason for the progress in NAVI's game compared to ESL Pro League Season 16, where the team was eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Mistakes make you better always, so the more you lose, if you do properly your analysis, you always will improve. It looks like progress is inevitable if you are doing correct things, but I think the status of the events is different. For us, to win the second Major is of very high priority. You also must understand that the teams that we played are... It's different. EPL has a different format; you must play a best-of-three every day, you don't have time to prepare, all opponents are pretty tough. Here, I don't think that Illuminar is a really strong opponent. It's good for us to start with best-of-one. The preparation also matters. You prepare one map, not three. It's a lot of time if you think about this. Outsiders is not the strongest team we could have. For example, we could play Vitality.

Besides Illuminar and Outsiders mentioned by Gorodenskiy, at IEM Road to Rio 2022 Europe RMR B, NAVI also bested MOUZ.
