YEKINDAR reveals his approximate buyout from Virtus.pro

In an interview with Metaratings, Latvian esports athlete Mareks "YEKINDAR" Galinskis, whose rights are owned by Virtus.pro, named the approximate fee of buying him out of his contract with the CIS organization. According to the player, this amount is slightly less than a million dollars.

Galinskis' words were an answer to a journalist's question, who asked to comment on the statement of OG's in-game leader Nemanja "nexa" Isaković on this topic. Earlier, the Serbian player said that YEKINDAR was considered as an option to strengthen the team, however, his buyout would cost OG somewhere around $1 million.

Now the main candidate for the acquisition of YEKINDAR is Liquid. The Latvian has been training with the North American team since June and successfully performed at two events as a stand-in: IEM Cologne 2022 (5-6th place) and BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022 (1-3rd place).

In early August, Liquid General Manager Steve Perino tweeted that the organization was working with Galinskis to "have some long term news soon". However, no information about the player's prospects in Liquid has appeared ever since.

Liquid's next matches will take place at ESL Pro League Season 16, which the team will start on September 21. It is currently unknown if YEKINDAR will attend this tournament.
