karrigan: I don't need to watch many more demos, I need to work on my individual skills

In an interview with the English-speaking BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2022 coverage studio, FaZe's in-game leader Finn "karrigan" Andersen opened up about how his training has changed over time. According to the 32-year-old Dane, now he spends more time working on shooting rather than analyzing matches.

The meta in CS:GO is changing all the time, but I still think you need to do a lot of output as an IGL. I know my level is each year going higher, even though the competition is also going higher. It is a very high-skill CS right now, people are shooting really hard. If you are not fragging as an IGL, you may need to make a lot of space and I don't think that's possible. <...> Since COVID started, I've reevaluated myself. If I wanna stay long-term in CS:GO, what do I need to work on here and the next three years? I came to a conclusion that I don't need to watch many more demos to understand how CS:GO works. I need to follow the meta but I need to work on my individual skills, so I put up a plan for training that way more than I watch demos. I do watch them at tournaments, but when I'm home, I play a lot more than I used to. My training days are getting longer than compared to when I was young, but I think that's what you need to do if you want to stay long in CS:GO and you are hitting a level when it's going downwards.

karrigan's esports career has been going on for more than fourteen years. He represented many large organizations during this time but achieved his greatest success with FaZe this year after winning PGL Major Antwerp 2022 and three other big events.
