FaZe analyst: "When rain is in form, he's the scariest player in the world"

FaZe analyst Viacheslav "innersh1ne" Britvin gave an interview to Sports.ru, in which he shared his opinion about some of the players of the roster and shed some light on his duties in the team. Among other things, he singled out Håvard "rain" Nygaard, who he considers to be the most dangerous player in the world, provided he is in optimal form.

rain is known for playing really good from time to time. He is all about consistency. He always brings a lot of impact and always plays at a high level. I would say rain is consistent at a distance. He has been playing at the top level for more than 7 years. But in a short period of time, his good tournaments often alternate with bad ones. <...> When rain is in form, he's the scariest player in the world, in my opinion. A real machine. If rain has his day, there is no point of even joining the server against him.

innersh1ne also commended the potential of Helvijs "broky" Saukants. The analyst believes that other members of the CS:GO community do not pay attention to the strength of the Latvian AWPer due to his passive playstyle.

I think he can become the top 1 sniper in the world. He has enormous potential. What prevents him from being noticed in the public eye is his passive playstyle. More specifically, it’s the style of opening the round. He can also do crazy things during the round, in the end, in clutches. But at the same time, he does not have such a huge number of aggressive peeks. What is interesting to the public, is when the sniper runs, does an incredible flick, opens the round and makes a 5v4 situation. broky indeed doesn't have that. Perhaps, one time he would want to adapt and be strong in that regard. The way broky plays is kind of uncommon for the pro scene. Yet he's cool and super confident.

Speaking directly about his job, Britvin emphasized that his main task is to find patterns in opponents' game.

Preparing one map takes about 1-2 hours. Depending on the opponent, the map and what exactly I'm looking for on it. In general, the main task is to find any pattern that could help the team win. This may be the weakness of the opponent. There may be some specific moment when you can use some gimmicks yourself, or if your team has some tactic up its sleeve and you realize that it can work here. Usually, you just divide the opponent's match into a bunch of categories. What they do with grenades, how, when. What they do after certain grenades. What they do in pistol rounds, gun rounds, anti-ecos, forces. That's how you try to find patterns.

innersh1ne has been working with FaZe since the spring of 2021. Since then, the team has won several big tournaments, including PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
