YEKINDAR to stand in for Liquid at IEM Cologne 2022

Liquid have decided on a standin for IEM Cologne 2022. As part of the prestigious LAN tournament, the North American team will be temporarily joined by Mareks "YEKINDAR" Galinskis benched in Virtus.pro.

Liquid have reportedly experienced difficulties with the search for a temporary replacement for Richard "shox" Papillon. Janusz "snax" Pogorzelski and Justin "jks" Savage were considered as possible candidates, but for various reasons they, like some other unnamed players, could not be added to the roster.

YEKINDAR joins Liquid as a standin a month after being removed from the Virtus.pro main roster. A few days ago, the star Latvian announced that he and the Russian club had agreed on the terms and timing of his departure, which allowed him to start exploring new career options.

Together with the rest of the Liquid roster, Galinskis will compete at IEM Cologne 2022 from the Play-In stage. The big event will be held in the German city of Cologne from July 5 to 17.

At IEM Cologne 2022,  Liquid will field the following lineup:
