Preliminary PGL Major Antwerp 2022 opening matchups unveiled

Esports information portal Liquipedia has published the preliminary seeding of PGL Major Antwerp 2022 participants, formed based on the results of the already concluded RMR tournaments. At the same time, the Challengers Stage's opening matchups have also been unveiled.

In the first stage of the upcoming Major, sixteen teams will compete in the Swiss system, where three wins ensure advancing to the next stage, and three losses deprive of a chance to continue the competition. The Challengers Stage will start in the best-of-one format, while the elimination and promotion matches will be played as best-of-threes.

The preliminary matchups in the round 1 of the Challengers Stage at PGL Major Antwerp 2022:

The eight strongest teams will advance to the Legends Stage, the format of which is no different to the Challengers Stage. These teams will be joined by Heroic, Copenhagen Flames, BIG, Cloud9, FURIA, FaZe, NIP and NAVI, who had previously secured the spots among the Legends.

The preliminary matchups in the round 1 of the Legends Stage at PGL Major Antwerp 2021:

 Heroic (#1) – 8th place in Challengers Stage
 Copenhagen Flames (#2) – 7th place in Challengers Stage
 BIG (#3) – 6th place in Challengers Stage
 Cloud9 (#4) – 5th place in Challengers Stage
 FURIA (#5) – 4th place in Challengers Stage
 FaZe (#6) – 3rd place in Challengers Stage
 NIP (#7) – 2nd place in Challengers Stage
 NAVI (#8) – 1st place in Challengers Stage

PGL Major Antwerp 2022 will take place from May 9 to 22 at the Antwerps Sportpaleis site in the Belgian city of Antwerp. 24 participants of the prestigious event will compete for a total prize pool of $1 million.
