Heroic buy MIBR’s BLAST Premier Member Team slot

Tournament operator BLAST has officially announced the change among its partner teams. As a result, Heroic became a new BLAST Premier Member Team, acquiring the slot previously occupied by MIBR.

The press release notes that it was Immortals Gaming Club, which owns MIBR, that decided to sell the slot. This decision was followed by a competitive bidding process with a number of leading esports clubs involved, as a result of which Heroic came out as the ones acquiring the slot. The information about the price, however, was not disclosed.

MIBR have been a BLAST partner team since the establishment of the franchise league by the tournament operator in early 2020. Then the membership program also featured Astralis, NIP, G2, OG, Vitality, NAVI, FaZe, Complexity, Liquid, Evil Geniuses and 100 Thieves. Subsequently, the place of 100 Thieves, who decided to leave the professional CS:GO scene, was taken by BIG.

BLAST Premier Member Teams receive direct invites to the group stages of the spring and autumn parts of the BLAST Premier series. There is no information about whether the partners share in profits from the tournaments in a similar to the ESL franchise system way.

Heroic also became an ESL partner team six months ago, but will be able to get this status only from the second half of 2022. Together with the Danish team, the partner status was also given to BIG and FURIA.
