s1mple: "The situation in the world does not let NAVI play as consistently as we did"

NAVI’s star Alexandr "s1mple" Kostyliev in an interview to the Europe RMR A organizers explained the shaky form of his team at the ongoing tournament. According to the Ukrainian, Natus Vincere have not had proper training sessions since April 8, when they were eliminated from ESL Pro League Season 15.

The interview with Kostyliev took place after NAVI booked a berth at PGL Major Antwerp 2022. The AWPer hopes that he and his teammates will be able to get a spot in the top 16 of the upcoming Major.

I think it is not enough, we need a spot in the Legends. Perhaps, we do not deserve it, since we had no preparations at all after we lost the ESL Pro League. We are trying to get in a good form and hopefully we will make it to the Legends so that we will have even more time to prepare.

The current situation in the world does not let us play as consistently as we did. Last year, we always had practices, scrims and all that, and right now we just play individually. Hopefully we will get the spot in the Legends and will be in a better form.

Besides NAVI, the fight for the spots in the Legends Stage of PGL Major Antwerp 2022 also features FaZe and forZe. The distribution of the teams by final positions will be known following the main part of the RMR event and will be determined using the Buchholz system. The squad finishing third will automatically advance to the Legends Stage, while those taking the fourth and fifth places will face off to battle out the remaining spot.
