Virtus.pro and Gambit to play at RMRs and PGL Major under neutral names

Tournament operator PGL has banned Virtus.pro and Gambit from representing their clubs in the upcoming RMR tournaments and the Major, while giving the players the opportunity to play in a neutral status. The press release was published on the official company's website.

PGL made this decision amid the connection of the organizations to the Russian government in light of ongoing hostilities in Ukraine.

Earlier, for the same reason, ESL imposed sanctions on the two clubs, as a result of which VP and Gambit participated in the ESL Pro League Season 15 under the names Outsiders and Players, respectively. The teams were also not allowed to mention their organizations and their sponsors in any way on their apparel.

Dzhami "Jame" Ali's squad will take part in Europe A RMR, which will be held on April 17-20, while Vladislav "nafany" Gorshkov and company will show up in Europe B taking place on April 21-24. Only 16 of 32 participants of the Europe RMRs will make it to PGL Major Antwerp 2022.
