IEM Katowice 2022 seeding announced

Tournament operator ESL has unveiled the groups of the main stage of IEM Katowice 2022 and the opening matchups of the Play-In stage.

During the Play-In stage, sixteen teams in a Double Elimination bracket will compete for eight spots in the group stage. The debut matches will be held in a best-of-one format with the following ones being best-of-threes.

The opening matches of the IEM Katowice 2022 Play-In stage:

The seeding of participants in the bracket:

In the group stage, the eight best teams from the Play-In stage will join the other eight squads who have received direct invites. The teams to finish in the top-3 in each of the groups will receive tickets to the playoffs, where they will fight in a Single Elimination best-of-three bracket with a best-of-five final.

The IEM Katowice 2022 playoffs will be hosted at the 11,000-seater Spodek Arena. The winner of the grand final, which will take place on February 27, will take home $400,000 from a total prize pool of $1,000,000.
