coldzera on a possible departure from Complexity: "I still want to give a chance to the team"

Brazilian player Marcelo "coldzera" David, who currently represents Complexity as a standin, spoke to HLTV.org about the latest performances of his new team. He commented on the unsuccessful result at IEM Fall 2021, which deprived the squad of the slot at the upcoming major, and also opened up about whether he is willing to continue his career in the current team if he gets an offer to sign a long-term contract.

According to coldzera, it was the psychological pressure related to the high importance of the regional championship that has prevented Complexity from doing well at the final RMR tournament.

We adapted a lot of things during the first tournament, but in the second tournament we were a bit sloppy in the first three games. The first game we played Nuke, we had a good result, 13-11, and we let it slip through our hands, and the second game was fine. The third game, we did the same thing. I think it was a little bit of pressure to qualify for the Major and people were a little bit stressed to make it through. Results-wise of course it's hard not to be at the Major, but at the same time these results make us stronger, they make people start thinking more, trying not to feel the pressure, to work harder. At the end, not qualifying will make us better, for sure. Of course we wanted to be there, but we saw the team in different ways how we could do better at the next tournaments.

At the same time, the 26-year-old Brazilian notes that PGL Major Stockholm 2021 is not of any particular importance for him, and if Complexity failed to qualify for the major, the team simply does not deserve a slot and should get better for the next tournaments.

To be honest, every tournament is a tournament for me. It doesn't matter if it's the Major or a DreamHack, StarLadder, for me it's just one more tournament. Of course I wanted to be at the Major, of course it's hard not to be sad not making it to the Major, but at the same time it's just a tournament. If we didn't go through, it's because we didn't deserve to be through. We didn't deserve to be there. The only thing we can do is to be better and better for the next tournaments.

Talking about his future in Complexity, coldzera stated that he is yet to decide where he wants to pursue his career. According to him, other organizations are still interested in getting him, but the decision will be made only at the end of this year.

If it works out I think they want to try to keep me. But at the same time, I'm just going to see at the end of the year if they like it or if they don't like it, because I already have new things. People are still talking with me if I want to join them, and even after the Major maybe there will be many roster changes. I still want to give a chance to Complexity, I've been enjoying playing with them, they are super nice guys and they work really hard. I'm just going to wait and see until the end of the year.

It should be reminded that Complexity finished the second lowest in both events with coldzera in the roster. The next official matches of the team will be at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2021, which will be held from October 12 to 17.
