Lucky replaces Xyp9x in Astralis for the ESL Pro League S14 match versus Team Spirit

Astralis made some changes to the main roster ahead of their debut match at ESL Pro League Season 14 against Team Spirit. The 18-year-old AWPer Philip "Lucky" Ewald will replace Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth in this match.

The representatives of the Danish club did not explain what caused such a reshuffle. It is also unknown whether this is a one-off replacement, or Lucky will continue to participate in the tournament for the upcoming matches.

Unlike Valve tournaments, ESL rules allow teams to change players during the championship without any penalties.

Astralis signed Ewald from Tricked at the end of last month. The young Dane joined the main roster as the sixth player.

Previously, Xyp9x publicly expressed his willingness to part ways with Astralis in early 2022, once his contract is expired. He stated he was open to offers from other clubs, and even had already negotiated with some of them.

The Team Spirit – Astralis meeting will be held today, August 16, and will kick off at 21:00 MSK.
