fnatic bench Golden

fnatic has removed Maikil "Golden" Selim from the main roster. According to the official website of multigaming, the player is allowed to negotiate with other clubs while he's on forced reserve.

In a press release, fnatic noted that parting ways with Golden will not be the only roster change. The organization will share more information about the team's rebuild in the near future.

Andreas Samuelsson, CSGO Head Coach commented:

“It saddens me to announce that we are moving Maikil from the active CSGO roster. Maikil is certainly the friendliest and best teammate in the scene, but the recent results have not lived up to the standards we expect from the team. That's why we're looking to turn the page and begin our rebuilding process with new in-game leadership. You can expect more news from the Fnatic camp in the near future to bring us back where we belong.”

Golden began playing for fnatic in 2017, moving to the main roster from the club's academy. After winning WESG 2017 and IEM Katowice 2018, Selim moved to Cloud9, but after one season he returned to the Swedish team, with which he became ESL Pro League Season 11 and DreamHack Masters Malmo 2019 champion.

Golden addressed the audience:

“I wish Fnatic the best of luck. Thank you for all the moments we shared together - I will always remember and cherish the memories. Thanks to all the people who supported us through the good and the bad. As of now there will be some reflecting to do and explore my options for the future.”
