Former Valve programmer Richard Geldreich outlined the consequences that players may face after switching CS:GO to Source 2. On his Twitter account, he emphasized that even the slightest changes to the code can lead to significant changes in the gameplay experience.

If not *impossible* to sustain because Valve is so quick to fire even its best coders.
Also, any software engineer that could do this port could easily get a 7 figure job at one of the biggest software companies, without dealing with game industry crap.
