Flashpoint 3 will act as RMR European event

The third season of the Flashpoint League will take place online from May 10-30 as the RMR Tournament for Europe. This was announced in the organizers' press release on the official website.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Valve as an RMR event as we approach the Stockholm Major,” said Christopher “MonteCristo” Mykles, VP of B Site. “And we’re excited to increase the quality of competition in Flashpoint while continuing our high standards for production and content. We think that Flashpoint 3 will offer fans a thrilling kick-off to the Major cycle and give brands significant exposure to the CSGO audience.”

Sixteen competitors will compete in a Double Elimination bracket in the main event of Flashpoint 3. Eleven of last season's top RMR teams received direct invites, while the remaining five slots will be taken by the finalists of the two-stage qualifying round, to be held from April 13 to 30.

“FACEIT looks forward to our continuing partnership with Flashpoint and we are excited to return to Valve’s official circuit after we produced the London Major”, said Michele Attisani, co-founder and CBO of FACEIT.

It is unknown at this time how the Flashpoint format change will affect the league's franchise system. As a reminder, eight affiliate teams purchased a $2 million permanent slot, but only half of them currently have a full-formed roster.
