Thorin terminates partnership with B site
eSports analyst Duncan "Thorin" Shields announced on Twitter that his contract with the B site, who own franchise league Flashpoint, where he served as creative director, has been terminated. He noted that he would have no further involvement in the project.
A week earlier, Shields had spoken out sharply about the problems of Flashpoint, which is organized under the franchise system. Specifically, he said that because of the lack of top teams and the organizations' unwillingness to improve rosters, the tournament had failed to reach a Tier-1 level in a year.
The Flashpoint League was founded in early 2020 and has managed two seasons with $1 million in prize money, with Cloud9, Dignitas, Gen.G, MIBR, c0ntact, Envy, MAD Lions and FunPlus Phoenix having a permanent slot in the series.
At this time, it is unknown when the next season of Flashpoint will take place. The competition is expected to take place in LAN format in the early summer of this year.
I intentionally gave no reasoning to draw out all the speculation, lies, criticism, hatred and unfair characterisations. Now the fun begins.
