Ethan leaves Evil Geniuses, transitions to Valorant

North American player Ethan "Ethan" Arnold announced on Twitter that he is quitting Evil Geniuses and is done with CS:GO. The 20-year-old eSports athlete has moved to Valorant, where he will represent 100 Thieves.

Going to make this short. I will be leaving CS and officially moving over to Valorant starting today. I've met many people through CS that I can now call friends and I'm extremely grateful for that. I've also made unforgettable memories that some people could only dream of experiencing. The one thing I ask is if you've supported me this long, you follow me into the next chapter of my career and I promise I will not let you down. I'm excited for this new challenge and I can't wait to give it my all over at 100Thieves.

Ethan has been signed by Evil Geniuses back in September 2019 when the organization bought out the NRG roster. Since then, the team's best results at major tournaments have been wins at ESL One New York 2019 and StarSeries S8.

This season, EG placed 5-6 at the BLAST Premier Global Final 2020 and DreamHack Open January 2021 and also reached the BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2021. The last tournament with Ethan in the lineup was IEM Katowice 2021, where the North Americans finished in 9th-12th place.

At this point there is no word on who will take over the vacated Evil Geniuses roster spot. The next event for the team will be ESL Pro League Season 13, which will be held in Europe from March 8 to April 11.
