FURIA confirms junior acquisition


Brazilian organization FURIA announced the acquisition of Triumph sniper Paytyn "junior" Johnson. The 20-year-old American replaced Enrique "HEN1" Teles in the main roster, who will soon join the former MIBR players project where he will reunite with his twin brother Lucas "LUCAS1" Teles.

Johnson's transfer was previously reported by DRAFT5. According to journalists, the value of the deal between the organizations is about $55,000.

Junior made a name for himself under the auspices of Triumph, a contract with which he signed in April 2020. With him, the North American team has won several Tier-2 competitions and also participated in regional tournaments DreamHack Open Summer 2020 (7th-8th place), ESL One Cologne 2020 (7th-8th place), ESL Pro League Season 12 (8th place), and IEM Beijing 2020 (2nd place).

The revamped FURIA lineup will debut in a week as part of the BLAST Premier Global Final 2020. The Brazilians will face G2 in their starting match on January 19.
