European Development Championship tournament series announced
New series of tournaments called the European Development Championship will be launched in late November 2020, which will include five seasons with a total prize pool of $150,000. The organizer is Eden Esports, which is also involved in the SuperNova Malta, Champions Cup, and Malta Vibes.
The European Development Championship tournaments are aimed at promoting regional teams and companies that broadcast matches. The regulations imply a separate slot for the broadcaster company, which it has bought and can give to any team or conduct its own qualification.
Sixteen teams will participate in each of the five scheduled seasons of the European Development Championship. The season will be preceded by the Wild Card qualifying tournament with twelve invited teams and two teams that will go through an open qualification.
The first open qualifiers will take place on November 14-15 and November 21-22, and the Wild Card Tournament will take place from November 27 to 29. The European Development Championship will start on November 30. The team that won first place will receive $17,500 and the opportunity to boot camp in Malta.
