The court dismissed Jamppi's claim and upheld the VAC ban

Elias "Jamppi" Olkkonen's petition to withdraw the VAC bath from Valve was rejected by the court of the Finnish Province of Eastern Uusimaa. This was reported by Ilta-Sanomat. The ban does not allow the player to participate in the tournaments series Major, which are sponsored by Valve.

Olkkonen demanded the cancellation of the ban before the final decision with a deposit of €100,000. The player also requested monetary compensation, as the ban prevented him from signing a contract with OG, which could have brought in €264,000 in salary and another €100,000 per year from the prizes. Finnish cyber sports lawyers estimated the total damage at €268,092.

The 19-year-old player started a lawsuit against Valve at the end of February this year. He claimed that the account, which was banned for cheating, was bought at the age of 14 and sold to a friend shortly after the purchase. According to Olkkonen, the ban prevents him from developing his career. Valve considers this claim groundless, because on April 21 he signed a contract with ENCE, despite the ban on participation in the majors.

Probably, the refusal in court will not put an end to this case, as Jamppi may challenge this verdict in the Court of Appeal. The complaint must be filed no later than seven days after the verdict.
