Lekr0 is now officially North player

North announced the signing of the contract with Jonas "Lekr0" Olofsson, thus confirming the previously announced information of the  DBLTAP portal. The Swedish player was bought back from NiP for an unspecified sum and will take the place of Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjaerbye, who joined FaZe.

Lekr0 was captain of NiP and left the team after two years of performing, with the best result being 3-4 places at DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018, ECS Season 6 Finals and BLAST Pro Series Global Final 2019. As for the Major tournaments, the most successful for the Swedes during this time was IEM Katowice 2019, where they took 5th-8th places.

NiP benched Olofsson in May this year, after which he was replaced by Hampus "hampus" Poser from GamerLegion. According to unconfirmed information, Lekr0 was also in talks with MAD Lions, but they were not successful.

In his first interview for the official North website, the 27-year-old pro said he would try to take the team to the next level.

“I am really looking forward to joining North. There has been a lot of rumours about me joining “this and that” org, but when I started talking to North about the project and what they aim for with this team and their Nordic ambitions, I didn't have any doubts. This is definitely the new home for me, and I am really looking forward to playing with the guys and bringing this team to the next level,” Lekr0 says.

The North players will have a few days to train in full squad, as already on August 25 they will debut at the Nine to Five 3 tournament, where the Danes have been invited directly.

The current squad of North:

 Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen
