DeKay: North are exploring top player market

North are considering ways to strengthen its CS:GO line-up with players from top teams. This was reported by DBLTAP journalist Jarek "DeKay" Lewis with reference to numerous sources close to the Danish club.

According to the insider, representatives of North have contacted the players of almost all top teams recently, including players from the North American region. In particular, North were interested in transferring Joakim "jkaem" Mirbostad from 100 Thieves, but the Norwegian refused to change the club.

Sources also know that North is looking for a replacement not only for Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjaerbye, who received free agent status earlier this month, but also for Niklas "gade" Gade. What caused the possible expulsion of the 24-year-old Danish is not reported.

"Of course we are always interested in the transfer market and what opportunities there may be to improve our roster with talented players from our region," said North head of esports Graham Pitt, when reached for comment. "With the recent news regarding our parting of ways with Markus Kjærbye, it should not be a secret that we are actively looking at what options are available as we prepare for the upcoming season but we are not willing to comment on rumours regarding specific players."

Currently, the North's roster includes four players. After Kjaerbye's forced retirement, the team was staffed by 18-year-old Christopher "kristou" Aamand from AGF, with whom she performed at DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 (13-16th place) and cs_summit 6 (7th place), as well as participated unsuccessfully in the European qualification for ESL Pro League S12.
