Kjaerbye is now a free agent

North player Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye, who was benched due to health problems in the middle of May this year, has left the team finally . At the moment, the 22-year-old Dane is a free agent and is considering ways to continue his esports career.

“I’ve been really happy at North, but it has also been a bumpy road with many changes, and I feel that this break has made me see more clearly. Currently, I still need some time, but I know I’m far from done with CS. This is what I know, and I look forward to my next adventure.”
Markus Kjærbye

Kjaerbye has represented North since February 2018. The team's greatest achievements during this period have been winning DreamHack Open Tours 2018, DreamHack Open Valencia 2018, DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 and DreamHack Open Sevilla 2019, as well as winning a number of other prestigious competitions.

“It is with heavy heart, that we say goodbye to Kjaerbye. He is, at his best, not only one of the best in the world, but also a great teammate and an inspiring colleague.”
Christian Engell, Performance Manager, North

After the forced departure of Kjærbye to the inactive status, the North rented 18-year-old AGF player Christopher "kristou" Amanda. Together with him, the Danish club performed at DreamHack Masters Spring 2020 (13-16th place) and cs_summit 6 (7th place), as well as unsuccessfully took part in the European qualification for ESL Pro League S12.
