NiKo regularly reminds Valve of the need to nerf SG 553 under the publications of the official CS:GO account on Twitter. His comments collect more likes than the original posts.

SG 553 was hardly used in the game until its price has been reduced to $2750 in October 2018. The upgrade on November 19, 2019 raised the price to $3000, but this weapon was still the main one in the attack. For example, at IEM Katowice 2020 SG 553 became the most popular rifle - it was used in 26.6% of rounds.
