Robin ‘flusha’ Rönnquist and Maikil ‘Golden’ Selim rejoin Fnatic CS:GO.
- Golden arrives on loan until the end of 2019.
- Both return having played for Cloud9 in the past year.
Between the moment we dropped out of the Berlin Minor and now, we have made a more arduous effort towards improving our team than ever before. We already announced that Xizt, twist and Jumpy have all either moved to the bench or departed. Since, in choosing our new players and creating a management system, we made sure to have a strenuous interview process.
As such, a new era dawns, with flusha rejoining Fnatic for a second time and Golden arriving on loan until the end of 2019. Both players had spells in Los Angeles with Cloud9 since initially leaving Fnatic last year.
Golden most recently stood in for Ninjas in Pyjamas during the Berlin Major, where they fell in the Legends Stage. Flusha, meanwhile, took a break from Counter-Strike that, after interviewing him again, we believe has made him not only more determined for success with Fnatic but also has helped him grow as a human being.
With added experience, self-awareness, self-fulfilment and all good things Swedes don’t usually get in the dark months of the year, we now look to the rest of 2019 as a chance for not just a return to glory but growth as players and people.
We begin our march with our ‘new’ roster in ECS Season 8 tonight at 17:00 CEST!
Golden, our returning IGL, stated:
“I am extremely excited to return to where it all began for me. I’m happy to be back with the guys and lead this team back in form with all the different experiences and knowledge we have learned in the past year.”
Revealing more about his return, flusha said:
"It feels great to be back in Fnatic, where most of my fondest CS:GO memories were created - and, hopefully, there will be even more in the future.
We all made some mistakes in the past that we have learned from and I believe we have all matured and become more professional since both mine and Golden’s departure from Fnatic last year.
During my break from the CS:GO scene, I reflected a lot upon the negative and positive things that I showed in my entire professional esports career and I have tried to now focus on what once made me one of the best players in the world.
I’m excited to come back to play with some of the best players I have ever played with and especially to be beside such a young talent in Brollan.
Hopefully, we can all show him the experience we have and teach him everything we know to make sure he becomes the best player in the world at some point!"
The first official fnatic match in the new squad will take place today, September 16, at 18:00 Moscow time. The Swedish team will fight against Heretics within the ECS S8 Week 1.
