Karrigan Benched by FaZe Clan

Finn "karrigan" Andersen will no longer play for FaZe Clan's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, the organization announced Sunday.

FaZe Clan announced the decision on Twitter, where it refused to provide any information about the decision. The organization plans to elaborate in a later news update. Karrigan, for his part, played things much the same way. He stated on Twitter he had been benched from the CS:GO lineup, and that he would release a longer statement in the near future. He also asked parties interested in acquiring him to contact FaZe.

Nikola "NiKo" Kovac replaced karrigan as FaZe's in-game leader at the end of September following the team's poor performance at ESL One New York. He remained on the roster through the next several events as the team won EPICENTER 2018, earned fourth place at BLAST Pro Series: Copenhagen, and third-fourth at Intel Extreme Masters Chicago.

His and the team's results dipped after that event, as they failed to earn a spot at the Esports Championship Series Season 6 finals and finished at 11th in the Europe stage of ESL Pro League Season 8.
