FaZe Clan Wins ESL One Belo Horizonte

FaZe took a 3-2 victory over mousesports to become ESL One Belo Horizonte champions.

Faze Clan took the early lead in the CS:GO series, winning the first map, Inferno. It came away with a 9-6 scoreline in the first half of the map and then completely dominated the second half to come away with a 16:6 win.

The second map of the series, Cache, was an entirely different story for the two competitors. FaZe Clan went on a 11-0 run to begin the first half of the second map, securing an 11-4 finish in the first half. Mousesports rallied back going 12-3 in the second half, led by a combination of play from Chris "chrisJ" de Jong, Martin "STYKO" Styk and Robin "ropz" Kool. Mousesports was able to make the clutch comeback and won the second map of the series with a 16:14 score.

On train, mousesports got to a quick early lead on the terrorist side. The team continued to build on that lead once it switched to the counter-terrorist side. In convincing fashion, mousesports defeated FaZe Clan, 16-12.

Something awoke in FaZe Clan on Mirage. The team played with a fury that it had not shown since the first game of the series. In dominating fashion, the team bested mousesports with a score of 16-9. It seemingly had every angle covered, almost every time.

Mousesports hit back hard on Dust2, the final map of the series. The team started off strong, but then FaZe Clan figured out their strategies and started piling on round victories. If it wasn't for the incredible AWP shots of Chris "chrisJ" de Jong, mousesports wouldn't have finished the first half of the map 8-7. In the second half, mousesports didn't initially have those AWP shots anymore, and FaZe Clan went on a 8-0 run to crush the opening of the second half.

Mousesports managed to get two more rounds to bring themselves up to 10 before FaZe Clan closed out the map, and the series. After a rocky finals, FaZe stepped up in the final game to become ESL One Belo Horizonte champions.
