NiP sign dennis, bench Xizt

Ninjas in Pyjamas have signed former GODSENT and Fnatic player Dennis "dennis" Edman to their CS:GO roster, the organization announced Tuesday.

Dennis will be replacing Richard “Xizt” Landström on the roster. Xizt has been playing with NiP since 2012, and was one of the original members of their CS:GO roster.

"Words cannot express the gratitude we have towards his contribution as a player and friend," NiP stated in a press release. "The performances we have seen in the past, and the moments we have shared outside of the game will forever be remembered as we move a true NiP legend to the bench."

Dennis last played for GODSENT, but was benched by the organization in November. He is best known for his time on Fnatic, where he helped the team place 3rd-4th at ESL One Cologne 2016 and the ELEAGUE Atlanta Major 2017. Dennis will act as NiP's in-game leader.

"I’m very excited to become the new in-game leader for NiP," Dennis stated in a press release. "It has been some time since I lead a team on this level and of this caliber, but I am ready to give it all I have and to play hearts out with my new team. With the new and the old blood in the team and the large organization behind, I’m positive that we can become what NiP once were, a world dominating CS:GO team."

NiP have struggled over the past two years, only winning a small handful of significant events, and have failed to qualify for the past three Majors. The team just went 0-2 at Cs_Summit 2, losing 2-1 to both Team Liquid and Heroic.

"We are happy to have an experienced player filling the shoes of Richard, as our team now consist of a mix of experience and the next generation of players," NiP CEO Hicham Chahine said in the press release. "We are excited to see what Dennis can bring to our team and organization. Benching a player like Richard is one of the toughest decisions I have ever taken, but the well-being of Ninjas in Pyjamas and performance in games comes first as we set off to find new success."

Dennis will play for NiP in their ESL Pro League games this week, and will play for the team at IEM Katowice.
