SunPayus won't get a sticker at PGL Major Singapore 2026, cmtry could miss the event altogether
Astralis player Nikita "cmtry" Samolotov will likely be unable to play for his team at the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 Major in Singapore after FUT were eliminated from PGL Masters Bucharest 2026.
The exit came in only Álvaro "SunPayus" García's fourth official match for FUT since his move from G2 earlier this month. With no matches left for the team before the Major invitation deadline on November 2, cmtry still counts as part of FUT's roster in the VRS ranking.
SunPayus will be able to play for FUT as a stand-in, but he will not receive a sticker. Meanwhile, cmtry is locked to the lineup and cannot be registered by another team.
FUT coach András "coolio" Fercsák has already called on the developers of Counter-Strike 2 to make an exception to the rules:
This situation makes no sense. SunPayus has been with FUT for 2 months and is missing out on his Major sticker because he’s one match short of the requirement.
We were 2-0 at PGL Bucharest and could’ve manipulated the outcome against Vitality to meet the requirements, but we chose competitive integrity instead.
Both SunPayus and cmtry deserve an exception to be eligible for the Major with their respective teams. Rules should never punish players for doing the right thing. Please reconsider.
PGL Singapore Major 2026 will take place from November 24 to December 13, 2026, with 32 teams competing for a $1.25 million prize pool.
