ESL announce new CS2 tournament in Brazil

Tournament operator ESL has officially announced a Counter-Strike 2 event in Brazil from May 3-9, 2027. The host city will be revealed later.

The competition will follow the familiar IEM format with a prize pool of $1 million. Sixteen teams will participate, 11 of which will receive direct invites based on the global VRS ranking. The top squads in the North American and South American VRS ranking will each secure one invite, while the remaining three spots will be awarded through qualifiers (two global and one American).

The tournament will begin with a group stage, in which 16 teams will be divided into two groups of eight. Matches will be played in a Double Elimination BO3 format, with the top four squads from each group advancing to the playoffs.
