Gizmy departs Monte
22-year-old British esports athlete Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen has left Monte. The Ukrainian club officially announced the news via its X social media account.
Gizmy has represented Monte since November 2023 (he has competed for the organization's main and youth Counter-Strike 2 squads at various times). The player commented on his departure from the club as follows:
After the major, the core told me that they were leaving to LG, and had also signed contracts before the major. Pretty sad ending for a team I’ve led since the beginning, but that’s how it goes sometimes. Good luck to them in their new endeavor - will announce my new team soon.
Notably, today the North American esports club Luminocity revealed its return to Counter-Strike: the organization has signed the core of Monte. This leaves Monte's CS2 roster without a single player.
Rumors suggest that von Spreckelsen could take over as the new IGL of 100 Thieves, replacing Håvard "rain" Nygaard.
