Cache to replace Overpass in active CS2 map pool

Counter-Strike 2 developers have officially announced that Cache will replace Overpass after the current Premier season ends on July 6, 2026.

Cache will return to the active CS map pool after seven years of absence. The map was removed from the game in 2019 in favor of Vertigo, and then received a reworked version that was introduced in 2025. Following the remake's release, the map was acquired by Valve, and the company officially added it to CS2 in April of this year.

Cache's spot will be vacated by Overpass, which only lasted in the active map pool for a year. The first Tier 1 tournament following Cache's return will be BLAST Bounty 2026 Season 2, which kicks off on July 21.
