hally to miss IEM Cologne Major 2026 playoffs

Team Spirit will continue its participation in IEM Cologne Major 2026 without head coach Sergey "hally" Shavaev, HLTV.org reported.

Notably, earlier this month, the organization announced hally's return as head coach of the club's Counter-Strike 2 squad. Due to health issues, the esports athlete was unable to travel to Cologne, but the club's statement revealed that Shavaev "may be able to join the roster during the tournament".

Thus, the team successfully completed the second and third stages of the Major without hally, finishing both stages with a 3-0 match record. Team Spirit's co-coach, Dmitry "S0tF1k" Forostyanko, was also unable to join the roster due to visa issues.

IEM Cologne Major 2026 will take place from June 2-21, 2026, in Cologne, Germany. 32 teams will compete for a $1.25 million prize pool. Detailed information about the competition can be found via the link.
