CS2's peak player count drops below 1.5 million

Counter-Strike 2's average monthly audience declined again over the past month. In May 2026, the average player count fell by 4.32% (42,000 players) compared to the previous month.

The peak player count in May also decreased compared to April, from 1.564 million to 1.489 million users. The statistics were provided by the analytics service Steam Charts.

Notably, Counter-Strike 2 released several minor and big updates in May. In one of them, Valve added content related to the IEM Cologne Major 2026.
