Official: Esports World Cup 2026 to be held in France

French capital, Paris, will be the new host of the Esports World Cup esports festival in 2026. The event's organizers officially announced the news on X.

The Counter-Strike 2 tournament as part of the Esports World Cup 2026 is scheduled for August 12-23, 2026, with 32 teams competing for a $2 million prize pool. The festival itself is scheduled to begin on July 6 and will feature competitions across 24 disciplines with a total prize pool of $75 million. The event was originally scheduled to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Notably, Esports World Cup 2025 for CS2 was held from August 20-24 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The event's prize pool was $1.25 million. In the final, The MongolZ defeated Aurora with a scoreline of 3-0. Sodbayar "Techno" Munkhbold was named the tournament's MVP.
