CS2's peak player count once again exceeds 1.7 million

Counter-Strike 2's average monthly player count has declined slightly over the past month. In March 2026, the average player count dropped by 1.38% (almost 15,000 players) compared to the previous month. Prior to this, growth had been observed for five consecutive months.

Conversely, the peak player count in March increased compared to February, from 1.627 million to 1.717 million users. The statistics were provided by the analytics service Steam Charts.

Notably, Counter-Strike 2 released several small and big updates in March. In the latest update, Valve reworked the reload mechanic.
