ESL brings Oceania back to ESL Pro League ecosystem

Tournament operator ESL has reversed its decision to exclude Oceania from the ESL Pro League qualifying system, reinstating the region's participation in the tournament.

Note that in November of this year, ESL announced that Oceania would no longer receive an EPL slot through ESL Challenger League, but this decision has now been reversed following criticism from the community and the teams themselves.

The winners of Oceania Cup will now receive an invite to the combined Asia-Oceania Regional Finals. This tournament previously featured the four Asian Cup winners, who will now be joined by the four winners from Oceania to compete for a single ESL Pro League slot.

"Admittedly, we probably didn't get it right the first time with changes and this has led to today's change", noted Marc Winter, Director Esports for Counter-Strike at ESL and FACEIT.
