kaze takes over as Rare Atom player-coach
Chinese esports organization Rare Atom has announced changes to its Counter-Strike 2 roster: team's AWPer Andrew "kaze" Khong has moved to the role of player-coach. The club's official announcement claims:
After communication and friendly consultation between the club and the player himself, Andrew Khong [kaze] will join the coaching staff and transition to the role of playing coach.
We hope that kaze can adapt to his new identity as soon as possible, and use his rich experience in competitions to sharpen the team's edge and achieve better results.
The statement from Rare Atom did not specify the exact meaning of this change or how it will affect the role of the team's current coach, Zhenghui "z8z" Liu.
Rare Atom currently ranks 53rd in Valve's official ranking of the world's strongest Counter-Strike 2 squads.
