HLTV: G2 may buy out player from fnatic

23-year-old Slovakian esports athlete Matúš "MATYS" Šimko may join G2's Counter-Strike 2 roster. HLTV.org reported this, citing its own sources.

According to media reports, the European club is currently negotiating with fnatic about the player's transfer. Šimko has represented fnatic since November 2023. The average rating of the esports athlete over the past three months is 1.17 (in 57 maps).

Earlier, a rumor also surfaced on the web that Janusz "⁠Snax" Pogorzelski may soon depart G2's CS2 lineup, while Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač will take over as the team's IGL. Eetu "sAw" Saha and Alvaro "SunPayus" Garcia will also join the squad.

Note that G2 placed 9th-11th at BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. The team currently occupies tenth place in Valve's world ranking.
