BIG parts ways with coach
35-year-old Austrian esports athlete Alexander "kakafu" Szymanczyk is no longer the head coach of BIG's Counter-Strike 2 roster. The German club officially announced this via its X social media account.
Sebastian "xenn" Hoch will temporarily fill the role of the coach in the squad. Note that in January of this year, Hoch took up the position of assistant coach on the BIG roster. Before that, he worked with ALTERNATE aTTaX.
kakafu has been coaching BIG's starting five since May of 2024; before that, he worked with the team for several months as an assistant coach. In addition, the Austrian also was part of the club in 2017 and 2018 – during that period, he was an analyst and coach of the main and youth squads.
BIG's updated lineup will debut at the upcoming IEM Melbourne 2025 and PGL Astana 2025. The team currently occupies 20th place in Valve's world ranking.
