B1ad3: "s1mple is the greatest player of all time, he just needs to get back into form"

Coach of NAVI's CS2 roster Andrey "B1ad3" Gorodenskiy answered the question about whether Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev will return to the Counter-Strike pro scene. In an interview with Dust2 Brasil, Gorodenskiy speculated that if the Ukrainian esports athlete starts practicing now, he will be able to find a worthy team for himself after the Shanghai Major.

I think that this question can be asked only to s1mple himself. I can't say anything specific because we are focusing on the current lineup. He's resting, so obviously he's not at his best individually right now and needs to start doing something. Once he's ready to come back, anything could happen, we don't know. After the Major there will be a large transfer window – usually, at such a time, teams that have completely failed, for example, those which did not make it into the top 8, are getting changed.

Any roster that needs a good AWPer could be a new home for s1mple. If I were s1mple, I would have already started practicing to show that I am ready to come back after Shanghai – this is the perfect time to jump on this train. I don't know, he might start playing online tournaments with tier 3 teams to get back in form. We know s1mple, he is the greatest player of all time, he just needs to get back into form.

Note that Oleksandr has been on NAVI's bench since October 2023. In March of this year he competed for Falcons on a loan deal at BLAST Premier Spring Showdown 2024 – the squad lost the first match and placed last at the event. Kostyliev recently announced that he could return to the pro scene "soon".
