STYKO departs Apeks

28-year-old Martin "STYKO" Styk has officially departed Apeks' Counter-Strike 2 roster. The organization announced this via its social media accounts.

"Right now it feels like a perfect opportunity and time for me to move on. It’s quite the journey, but everything has to come to an end", added the esports athlete himself. According to the media reports, Alexander "Altekz" Givskov may fill the vacant position on the roster.

STYKO represented Apeks for more than two years – since January 2022. With him, the team placed 3rd-4th at BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023. Throughout his career as a professional CS2 player, the Slovak earned $378,000 in prize money.

Apeks fell short to pass the open qualifier for Esports World Cup 2024. The team also lost the qualifiers for BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, ESL Challenger Jonköping 2024 and IEM Dallas 2024. At PGL Major Copenhagen 2024, the squad took the penultimate place.

Apeks will play their next match on May 14 at ESL Challenger League Season 47 Europe (against System5). The team has also received an invite to the MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2024 tournament, which kicks off on May 28 in Mongolia.
