Rumors: CS2 tournament within Esports World Cup 2024 to feature $1 million

The Counter-Strike 2 tournament at the largest esports event, Esports World Cup 2024, will feature a prize pool of $1 million. The corresponding information was published online and has not yet received official confirmation.

Earlier, the Esports World Cup 2024 organizers revealed that an amount of over $30 million has been allocated for competitions in each of the announced disciplines. Another $20 million will be awarded to 16 of the most successful multi-gaming organizations.

The prize pool distribution according to the leak looks as follows:

As of now, the participation of Team Spirit, NAVI, FaZe, Complexity, FURIA, G2, Vitality, MOUZ and Virtus.pro in the CS2 tournament have been confirmed. Additional six spots are allocated to winners of the qualifiers for Europe, North America, South America, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East.

Note that the dates for Esports World Cup 2024 have not yet been unveiled, but it is known that the event will be held in the summer in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
