Sprout ceases operations

German club Sprout announced via its social media accounts the cessation of its activities. This decision was caused by the inability to continue further work with the current business model of the organization.

Reportedly, Sprout can no longer follow the concept of a club that raises potential top-tier players. Management came to the conclusion that this approach is not financially sustainable unless the team at least periodically competes at biggest tournaments.

All members of the Sprout roster have been released from their contractual obligations and can explore further careers as free agents.

Sprout has been represented on Counter-Strike pro scene since 2017. In 2019, the German club managed to reach the international level, in particular, placing second at the LAN tournaments Charleroi Esports 2019, Copenhagen Games 2019, Games Clash Masters 2019 and DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019, but its further achievements are associated only with regional competitions.

Sprout's latest lineup looks as follows:

Rasmus "raalz" Steensborg
Jan "cej0t" Dyl
Kamil "reiko" Cegiełko
Daniil "Sdaim" Tupov
Paavo "podi" Heiskanen

Danny "BERRY" Krüger (coach)
