Official: Jason Lake buys out Complexity

Esports holding GameSquare has officially announced the sale of Complexity to a group of investors called Global Esports Properties, led by Jason Lake, the co-founder and permanent CEO of the North American club. The transaction cost amounted to $10.36 million.

The press release claims that GameSquare sold the asset to optimize its platform ahead of the finalisation of FaZe's acquisition process. Note that the presence of two Counter-Strike teams in the structure could lead to a conflict of interest, as stated by the biggest tournament operators.

Lake's intentions to bring Complexity back under his control initially were reported late last year, shortly after FaZe's merger with GameSquare was confirmed. Later, on February 12, PGL received written guarantees from Complexity's CEO, assuring that the competitive integrity will not be violated at the upcoming Major, which will take place from March 17 to 31 in Copenhagen.

Complexity is currently represented on the Counter-Strike pro scene by the lineup with an American core of Ricky "floppy" Kemery, Michael "Grim" Wince and Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski, rounded out by South African Johnny "JT" Theodosiou and Norwegian Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli. The team is coached by Tiaan "T.c" Coertzen.
