Group stage in Katowice starts with wins for Team Spirit, FaZe, Eternal Fire, Complexity, G2 and ENCE

The first playday of the IEM Katowice 2024 group stage has ended, with six matches taking place. Team Spirit, FaZe, Eternal Fire, Complexity, G2 and ENCE kicked off the tournament successfully.

Four matches played out in Group A, in which Team Spirit defeated NAVI (13:7 on Ancient, 11:13 on Anubis and 13:4 on Mirage), FaZe expectedly took over Rebels (13:9 on Nuke and 13:7 on Ancient), Eternal Fire bested Falcons (13:9 on Vertigo and 13:6 on Nuke), while Complexity got the better of Apeks (13:9 on Vertigo and 13:11 on Overpass).

Two matches took place in Group B: G2 won against Heroic in a hard-fought game (16:13 on Overpass, 13:16 on Anubis and 13:6 on Nuke), while ENCE defeated the main favorite Vitality (13:6 on Vertigo, 4:13 on Anubis and 13:8 on Nuke).

The winners of all the aforementioned matches will continue to compete in the upper brackets of their respective groups. In turn, the losing teams will fight in elimination matches.

On February 4, IEM Katowice 2024 will continue with six matches, which will be divided into three time slots. The playday will start at 13:30 CET with the matches Monte – GamerLegion and MOUZ – Cloud9, continue at 16:30 CET with the Eternal Fire - FaZe and Falcons - Rebels matchups, and end at 19:30 CET with the Team Spirit – Complexity and NAVI – Apex matches.
